I personally change my fuel filter on all my vehicles every other oil change. But my fuel filters are about 5 to 10 bucks. Unless yours is outrageously expensive you should consult your owners manual. It will never hurt to change as often as you want but not to replace it often enough will result in poor gas mileage an maybe damage to the fuel pump itself. Plus you will have a lack of performance an a sluggish feeling when accelerating.
Your owner's manual list the scheduled maintenance on the fuel filter. Fuel today is pretty clean so changing it every other oil change is overkill but will not hurt. It is just a waste of money. I would recommend every 50,000 miles unless the owners manual states more often.
A quality filter such as AC/Delco is the filter your should use.
