You should clean their cage about once a week. Change the lining every day, or more if needed. If you have more than one parakeet, remember to give them separate bowls so that they don't fight over the food. You should change the food and water every day. I hope you love your budgies, I know I do (:
I cleaned my gerbils' cage once a week. I owned 3 gerbils and their cage got pretty dirty. If you have more than 3 I would suggest twice a week.
You do not need to clean a gerbil out very often. Only about once every 2 months. This is because a gerbil makes his own bedding by chewing up cardboard and they shouldn't smell very much.
about twice a month because hamsters hoard their food and they do not like it being messed up to often, as it their natural instinct to hoard, that is how they got their name.
you clean your hamsters once every week unless she has babies in the cage then you cant clean it until 2 weeks after thierr birth.
Since they live about three years, if you cleaned it once a day you would clean it nearly 1100 times. Of course if you cleaned it once a week it would only be 156 times.

I clean out my hamsters cage twice a week.
about once a week works for me and my friends that have tortoises
OK if u buy a parakeet nothing will happen.
it is unhealthy so you should often clean the cage.
you should clean your guinea pigs cage every 2-3 days just to make sure they don't get sick, and it doesn't smell. sak :)
Parakeet cages are generally very small, so I wouldn't recommend it. A rule of thumb is that a bird must have a large enough cage to be able to fully spread his wings, and it must be deep enough so that the bird's tail isn't damaged. Unless the parakeet cage in question is fairly large, then it should be fine. Also remember that the smaller of a cage you buy for your cockatiel, the more out-of-cage time you should provide him.
you should clean it once a week
