AnswerA child, seen by the law as a juvenile, cannot choose with whom to live, as only a legal adult can make such a legally binding decision. However, you can have someone petition the court on your behalf or ask to be heard by the court to state your case. Then the judge will decide the matter.

Once the child reaches age 12, the court will heavily consider the child's choice of parent with which to reside. Other factors will also be weighed but the decision taken will ultimately be in the best interests of the child.
