Generally, most gyms won't let people under the age of 16 use the weight room. Also, until males hit puberty, muscle gains from weight lifting will be relatively small, since they have lower levels of testosterone. Still, if properly supervised, there's little harm in starting small with push-ups, crunches and some dumb-bell exercises at home. Having some earlier experience weight lifting will mean you'll be bright and ready when you hit 16.
