It will depend on the model. It appears that British Seagull motors were full production from 1931 and sold as Marston Seagull. These were much the same in design as the more modern engines and had reverse gears and water cooled exhausts. They were available in both short & long shafts. In 1938 the design was changed. During the war due to Navy requirements new models were made in 1949, and in then again in 1952 and some in1955/56. Manufacture peaked in the 1960s. In 1982 the large. 7.5hp Model 170 was launched. Production ceased in 1996 but spare production continues.
