"Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" written in 1964 and "Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator" written in 1972, He is said to be 96½. In the 1971 film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, he is in his early 60s.
In the 2005 film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, he is said to be in his early 80s. So either really no one knows, or Mr Dahl as his creator is the only one that knows. If he was a real person and still living in 2008, he would be 150½ years old.
