Old. It's from the beginning of 1200's.
Dannebrog
Red flag with a white cross
Unfortunately it is not the Danish flag, but a crusader flag. The flag in the Church is not only a flag, it is a Royal or a flag the government use, when there is something to celebrate in the Royal family or visiting from other states. All official buildings use it in that case.
Is small
The oldest flag still used by a nation, is the danish flag Dannebrog.
It is the oldest NATIONAL flag still in use - it is not the oldest flag.
According to the myth, the Danish flag (called Dannebrog) fell down from the sky to Valdemar II during the battle of Lyndanisse the 15 June 1219.
No one knows. It's said that the flag fall down from heaven in a fight in Estonia.
I don't know for sure but it's very similar to the Norwegian flag. We share the same language with only a very little differences. Norway was once a part of Denmark btw. And the Danish flag looks like the Swedish flag, only the colours are different.
No one knows. Legend says it fell from the sky.
The danish flag plays a huge role in the danish culture. It is one of the only flags in the world with an official name, "Dannebrog". In 2010 Denmark has 18 official days where one flies the flag. They are each year determined by the Ministry of Justice. Besides that, one flies their flag at birthdays, death, weddings and so on. That makes the danish flag one the most prominent flags of the world, and it is probably the most used as well. Sorry for my bad English :-)
depends on who you're buying for: from LEGO to HC Andersen stories, to Danish ceramics, Danish candy, figurines of trolls or little mermaid, Danish flag, etc
