Ggantija temples located in Xaghra, a village in Gozo, Malta.
They are on the Maltese archipelago which consists of Malta, the largest island and its neighbour Gozo with the small island of Comino in between. Located in the middle of the Mediterranean sea Gozo boasts the oldest free standing building in the world. The prehistoric temple Ggantija is 5600 years old, older than the pyramids of Egypt and Stonehenge of England. Other similar structures may be found on Malta such as the Tarxien temples, Hagar qim and Mnajdra. Although not quite as old as Ggantija they still are amongst the oldest structures in the world. In Malta, there are many tourist attractions, but one of the main tourist attractions are the Temples. There are a lot of temples in Malta, such as, Ġgantija, Tarxien Temples, Ħaġar Qim, etc.. They are older than the Egyptian Temples. Ġgantija is the world's oldest free-standing temple in the world.

The Maltese megalithic temples were made thousands of years ago, by Prehistoric people. They are even much older than the Egyptian Pyramids. Some of these Maltese temples are Ġgantija (Xagħra, Gozo), Tarxien Temples (Tarxien, Malta), etc.. One of the Hypogeums is the Saflieni Hypogeum (Ħal Saflieni, Paola, Malta), etc.. The Maltese temples are one of the main tourist attractions.
We Maltese have 23 temples but only a few of them are in a good state. The others were destroyed by buildings! Imissna nistħu!
The Megalithic Temples in Malta are older than Egypt's pyramids and England's Stonehenge. Malta is thought to be part of the lost city of Atlantis. Malta held the record for the most air raids in WWII. There are at least 360 different Roman Catholic churches and chapels.
