Tré Cool (Frank Edwin Wright III) joined Green Day in 1990, or 1991 at the latest. I'm not sure, I'll have to look into that... Tré was either 17 or 18 when he joined Green Day. Billie Joe said in a recent interview that he's known Tré since he was 17, so I'm thinking it was in 1990 that he joined the band. It was after the original drummer, John Kiffmeyer left for college.
