Nineteen-year-old Gavrilo Princip shot Franz Ferdinand on June 28, 1914. He was a member of the Black Hand (a Serbian terrorist organization). Princip was transported to a Theresienstadt prison in Austria to serve a 20 year sentence. Two years into his sentence, he died of tuberculosis.
