Former NASA astronaut and U.S. Senator from Ohio John Glenn was born in Cambridge, Ohio on July 18, 1921. On February 20, 1962, NASA astronaut John Glenn flew the Friendship 7 mission at age 41 becoming the third American in space and the first American to orbit the Earth circling the earth three times.
