The people that live across the street from my grandma's got a golden retriever in 1984 when I was 4 I remember this because he almost bit some kid up the street and the old man that owned him said that he was OK and not to worry he just wanted attention, I hadn't even started kindergarten at that point, it was still alive and kicking in 2006 during the October storm here in Buffalo and later. Though I don't recall the time that it was actually put to sleep. It would have probably been 2007 or later. I remember it would always bark at me when I was in college staying at my grandma's and I'd be going outside to get a book for a paper I was writing. I'd be in the middle of writing a paper at 12AM I'd go out the car and he'd be on the porch across the street having a fit. My grandma who was almost 90 by that point didn't seem to care as she was used to them training the dogs to bark at everything that moved, and she'd be like "they're trained good, the never leave the yard, even though they bark at everything". Though I never paid that close of attention, the dog would have been put down around the fall-winter period of 2007 or very early in 08 before I started the spring semester. So the dog would have been at least 23. I just wasn't paying close attention to the exact month.

the oldest yellow lab is Alex. She 15 years and 11 and 1/2 months old. She is owned by Joe, Renee, Joseph, Chandler, and Anderson Ward who live in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA.

um actually i have a yellow lab that's 17 years old.

Our dog Lady is currently 15 1/2 years old. Isn't it nice that our pets live to such a ripe old age. She's still such a well mannered dog. We're all so lucky to have our pets with us for such a long period of time.

My Chocolate lab is 17 years old and five months. He's deaf now, but he can still go up and down the stairs. Good thing too, we live in a three level townhouse. He's also one of the biggest labs you'll come across. the top of his head is almost at par with our kitchen counter.
