Santa Claus is different in Italy. They have a witch like character called la Befana.

The story:

The three kings went to tell befana that Jesus is born, and they asked her to come join them .She refused. Then sfter a while she decided to go visit Jesus and give him a gift. She could not find him. So, she still continues her search, by going to al the kids and giving them gift if their good, or caol if their bad, inhopes to find Jesus.
