When tectonic plates are pushed against each other this creates pressure between them, causing the rocks that they are made of to deform and push up to form mountains. An example of this is the pressure between India and the rest of Asia which formed the Himalayas.

Mountains are formed by tectonic plates converging at plate boundaries. When two plates move towards each other, they do not subduct. This causes land to be 'folded' up like a piece of paper to form a mountain. Think of two beach towels laying on a table and being pushed together, they will crumple and make a little mountain shape. Over long periods of time, the plates will rise up to create large mountains. A prime example is the Himalayas, formed by the Indian and Eurasian plates. opposite to these are subduction zones, at which volcanoes can form.

Mountains are created from collision of lithospheric plates, as in the case of the Himalayan Mountains, from upward thrusting of the colliding material. Mountains can also be formed from the subduction of denser crust at convergent plate margins and the subsequent rising of domed plutonic structures which can lead to creation of volcanic mountains. Underwater mountains are created by subduction and volcanism, and also from upwelling of the mantle at mid-ocean rifts, where new crust is being created, expanding the ocean floor on either side. The rising of the hotter and lighter mantle material causes a general uplift at the ridge area, creating the world's largest mountain ranges.

Where a mountain range is, is where two plates came together millions of years ago and squished the rock together so much that it formed mountains.

How earthquakes volcanoes and mountain's formation are related to plate tectonics?

Earthquakes, volcanoes and mountains are formed via plate tectonics. When the large continental plates collide, they either cause temporary earthquakes, or more permanent features such as volcanoes and mountains.

Plate tectonics can create mountains. Plate Tectonics can also cause earthquakes in California.

Mountains are formed when the plate tectonics overlap

Why are Pangaea and plate tectonics related?

Plate tectonics is the theory of continental drift. As Pangaea is what scientists and geologistsbase continental drift on (as it was the original cluster formation of all continents), they are very closely related and usually are within the same field of study.

How can non-volcanic mountains be created by plate tectonics?

Plate tectonics create mountains by shifting. They ran into each other and the crashes created solid mountains. Mountains are like wrinkles in the earth.

How do faults result in the formation of mountains?

Faults result in the formation of mountains due to the movements associated with plate tectonics. As two plates interact, one may end up being thrust high into the air, forming a mountain.

What is the process when mountains are formed again?

Plate Tectonics.
