It is fairly rare as brophy wrote that Stevens and savage only made around 1000 model 425 so by the time you break down all the 4 different calibers that brings the number down even further. The other question is how many of those 1000 survided the last 90 or so years. Your serial # should only have 4 digits underneath the lever which should read 1xxx to 5xxx. If its not under the lever it will on the receiver which would be a really low 1xxx number. Hope this helps.
Smith and Wesson Model 1
Not particularly, no. Little to no collector interest. sales@countrygunsmith.net
the 284 win caliber was introduced to the model 88 in 1963 and made until 1973.the total production for the model 88 was 284,000 units. With that said the 284 cal was the most rare! and does demand a premium.at this time I do not possess the production numbers in 284 win.caliber.
my buddy went to the gun store they every body wanted them but they are rare so about 500 to 600 dollars
This is the rare one(caliber) and price reflects. $600 and up for one in great condition.
If you want to determine wich caliber is better for you, start by knowing the purpose of the gun. It can be target shooting, self defence and the such. if you want to determine the caliber because who came across a gun for any reason such as passed down to you trough generation or inheritance, then you have to check the model and make wich should be stamped in the firearm itself and any gunsmith can tell you the caliber if the weapon does not state it wich it will be a rare case. Very old weapons did not have the caliber imprinted. Now a days I can not think of a firearm that does not have the caliber of its ammunition imprinted on it.
yes, because it is a rare caliber
yes it did. although very scarce. i know of one,yes its real. so rare that gun price guides don't list this caliber.

It is unusual vs. rare
Actually any caliber other than 30-30,or 32win special, will bring a 40% premium to the value of any saddle ring carbine model 1894 Winchester.I can only assume that the 32-40(32WCF) and 25-35Win.would be the 2 most rare calibers in the saddle ring carbine version of the model 1894.
The Model 1906/06 was introduced in 1906, discontinued in 1932, and with a total production of 625,000+ manufactured. From 1932 - 1942, an estimated additional 60,000 were assembled from remaining parts on hand (parts clean-up). In simple terms, it is one of the least rare Winchester .22 caliber models. Bert H.
