You must remove the battery and battery mounting plate first. Then follow the two (2) water lines from the tank and disconnect them where they have connector adapters. This is typically about two feet forward on the right side of the engine compartment. Then remove the two screws holding the tank in place. One is located behind the area where the battery was. The second must be accessed from beneath the vehicle. The other two fasteners are plastic expansion washers that are connected to your wheel well skirting. Be careful not to break these washers, rather move the liner to one side then pop the washer to the inside of the liner and the other side will pop through quite easily. To remove the tank you must pivot the two pumps forward to release the lines that are connected to the pumps. Be sure to twist left to right before attempting to pull the line off. The last step is to remove the three electrical connectors. Two are for the front and rear water pumps and the third one (located a little higher is the low fluid level indicator sensor. You will need a flat head screw driver to gently pry the prongs forward to release the connections. Once these steps are completed the tank will be completely free. remove from the bottom.
The windshield washer pump is located on the water reservoir. Remove the wheel on the driver's side and then the cowling around the wheel well that is in front of the wheel. Once it is off, the windshield washer pump on the water reservoir will be visible for easy replacement.
you have to remove the battery and tray, remove the iner fender well, un bolt it and remove fluid lines. Then reverse the prcess.
Should reset when fluid added--may be defective sensor in reservoir
You should be able to do this just by looking at them. They'll start at the windshield washer fluid pump (located at the bottom of the reservoir), come up along the firewall, and terminate at the sprayers.
Usually filled by the front reservoir
on these ones it is easier to take off the driver front tire and take out the inner fender wheel well , u can see everything from there,,hope this helps out
Attached to the lower part of the fluid tank.
Use a hammer
Firstly, check your owners manual for the exact location of the windshield washer container. Add the recommened type of wahser.
You have to take the battery out and remove bolts at the top of the reservoir. Then you have to remove the plastic pins inside the front left wheel well to allow you access to the bottom of the reservoir. There are bolts on the bottom to remove as well. You have to remove the hoses from the washer pumps and the reservoir should slide out thru the wheel well.
The other one is for the rear window washer.
If the 2003 model is similar to eariler models, the washer fluid comes from the reservoir under the hood and is the same supply for the front washers. Hard to believe but a small hose runs all the the way from the front of the vehicle to the rear window on my 96 Tahoe.
