My ABS light was coming on too and I found out it was my ABS control module, which isn't cheap. I found out this is a common problem in 1998 Honda passports.
The instructions to replace a Honda CR-V ABS wheel sensor is available in the service manual. If you do not own a manual, it can be obtained from Honda upon request.
it could be that your tires dont have alot of tread left, but you can turn the ABS off by pressing the little button on the left side below the steering wheel above the cruise control button- i believe it says VAS or something- the little triangle with the exclamation point in it will come on which means that the ABS and stability control is off
Honda odessy abs light on when driving
you NEED abs, traction control is nice but abs is a must. without abs your tires will lock up on the ice when braking. when this happen you cant steer, abs lets you steer ,as well as can be expected, but yes it gives you a lot more control in slippery conditions. you need abs
Factory ABS has certain time to be serviceable. Once it's past due, when the abs lit comes up, it needs to be brought to servicing department to check for integrity. The reason for ABS light on is the ABS system is bad. The most common issue of Honda/Acura ABS is the Nitrogen tank lost the pressure. The solution is to replace the whole unit (Not computer control).

From what I know your abs is what has the traction control built in, your abs controls your master cylinder, so if you are having a traction control problem you are going to want to replace your abs box not your master.
