Is the tennis ball representing the Earth? If the football stands for the Sun, it should be something a lot bigger, more like the house.

If you want to simulate the Earth-Sun distance, the Earth is roughly 11,600 times as far from the Sun as its own diameter, so you'd need the width of 11,600 tennis balls. (I'll work it out for you: 6.7 cm x 11,600 = 777 m or thereabouts, a couple of car lengths under half a mile)

The orbit, of course, would be 2 pi that, so figure on three miles even.

Move the ball around the 3 mile track at a speed of 1 foot, 10 inches an hour.
