How you dress for your Western Pleasure class will depend on several things. You are riding a Paint but is it a Paint show? Local one day show or larger multiple judge/day show? Styles change so quickly the best thing to do is attend several shows without riding just to get an idea of what is trending at the moment. Also get hold of some catalogs that specialize in show clothing. They will have the latest styles and make sure they are appropriate for your age. With Paints it's important to go with colors that compliment your horse's color. You don't want to wear red based outfits if your horse is a chestnut, ect. I know the people at Hobby Horse clothing are very helpful with customers putting their look together, so don't be shy to ask them.
Depending on the color of your horse your chaps are the foundation of your outfit. Work from that to match your hat color and don't forget your horse's blanket. That should be coordinated to your color scheme. When it comes to showing get the best look you can afford without breaking the bank. I just know from years of showing that there will always be someone that can spend more money with fancy saddles and outfits. Go and have a great time.
