A leaflet should have come with your tank about how to set it up and the equipment you will need but here is how i set up mine.......
put ur tank away from direct sunlight or sound systems, your tank needs to be near plug sockets.
1.Thouroughly clean the gravel, ornaments and sindes of your tank with warm water, (DO NOT USE SOAP)
2.set up your filter and air stone in the tank.
3. dose water with nitrate killing stuff that you can usually buy in all pet shops
4. add the water carefully as not to move the gravel at the bottom
5.leave your tank for about a week to settle before adding any fish
6. buy one or two little fish to see if they survive, if they are ok you can start to any other fish.
HOPE THIS HELPED (these were the intructions that came with my tank, i did not make this up)
Ghost shrimp are the best shrimp to add to a goldfish tank for optimal compatibility and health of the goldfish. They are peaceful and can help clean up leftover food and algae, benefiting the overall tank ecosystem.
You cant. Goldfish need much bigger tanks. 20-30 gallons. I bought 2 goldfish when I was new to aquarium hobby and put them in a 5 Gallon tank. The first one died in just one and a half day. The other one died just hours after the first one :( So if I were you, I would get a bigger tank.
you should never clean your fish tank with washing -up liquid or eny thing like that only a sponge that is new and water
A goldfish can live in an opaque glass tank as long as you keep up with necessary water changes. Like a small outside garden pond goldfish are only viewed from the top.
You should feed them at least 2 times a day, when you get up to eat breakfast and then after supper or dinner
Provided the tank is clean and has been set up correctly there should be no problems.
You have several choices, get a larger tank for them or put them into a pond (where goldfish should be) or remove some and take them back to a pet shop. Whatever you decide to do is up to you. You may even be able to think of some other alternatives.
you would have to get a 10 gallon tank for 1 goldfish! you would need a 20 gallon tank for 2 goldfish. Also goldfish don't go well together there just being stored at the store they take the fish out right when they start to be aggressive. sorry bout your 2 gallon tank!!
You can pick them up at about any pet store that sells goldfish. We have a white one we picked up at Wal-Mart and a black one from Petco.
It depends how big your bowl is if it is below 5 gallons then you should put one. But if it is 1 or 2 gallons then you will have to move it into a 5 gallon tank or bowl at the least.
See if your goldfish likes something that shines ,like a wand with glitter, and lift it up as high as you can then it might follow
Goldfish are egg-spawners. If you want to breed them, you need: * two aquariums--a 20-gallon spawning tank, and a 10-gallon grow-out tank. Neither one should have gravel or a filter in it. * a male and a female goldfish, both at least three years old * baby goldfish food Put about three inches of water in the grow-out tank. Put the adult goldfish in the spawning tank. When the goldfish are ready to spawn, the male will chase the female all over the tank. When she gets tired enough, she will scatter eggs all over the tank, and the male will spray his milt all over the tank. The milt will turn the water cloudy. Now for the fun part: you have to wait until the water clears, then scoop up all the eggs and put them in the other tank. Goldfish will eat their own eggs. Then cover the other tank, wait until they hatch, and start feeding the little fish.
