The Rankine cycle is one where a closed loop containing water/steam is used to transfer energy from an energy source such as a coal fired furnace or a nuclear reactor to a steam turbine/generator. It is the way all such power plants work, but not plants using gas turbines or combustion turbines which don't use a water/steam circuit.
In the Rankine cycle there are progressive stages: 1. Cool feedwater is pumped at high pressure into a boiler which is heated by the furnace or nuclear reactor 2. The water is heated and evaporated at high pressure, becoming steam 3. The steam is further heated to become superheated 4. The steam is admitted to the HP end of the steam turbine, and it progresses in stages to the LP end by which time it is cooled and under vacuum (the vacuum is maintained by external cooling water and increases the efficiency considerably by getting the maximum energy out of the steam) 5. The steam condenses in the turbine condenser under vacuum, to produce cool water, and hence back to stage 1. Electrical energy is extracted by the generator which is coupled to the shaft of the turbine, but that is not really part of the Rankine cycle, which is described in thermodynamic terms only. See link below for more reading and diagrams.
steam turbine have a lot of cavities at it sides in which when steam enters due to so many cavity so many force and it rotates turbine
In the Steam
In a back pressure turbine all available energy from the inlet steam is NOT used to generate power; steam exhausts at a tangible pressure and is then used for, usually, heating or chemical processing. In a condensing turbine, all the inlet steam does mechanical work right down to the lowest pressureafter which it is condensed in a heat exchanger
A kenotometer is an instrument used in steam turbine condensers to measure the vacuum in the steam space of the condenser. The vacuum achieved by the condenser has significant influence on the efficiency of the steam turbine.
Ratchet mechanisms used in Gas power plant for Gas Turbine. (like Barring gear in steam turbine).
Thrust pads are used to protect the steam turbine rotor from damage due to axial displacement due to axial thrust created by entry of steam in the turbine. generaly the pads clearence is 0.45mm for a bearing size 250mm.
The steam turbine blades to turn creates steam. The steam engine, steam piston Myllng after the turn brings.+++They are both steam-engines. The turbine is purely rotative; the reciprocating steam-engine uses cylinders and pistons.
Coal is burned to make heat, and the heat is used to boil water, which produces steam, and the steam pressure is used to rotate a steam turbine, and the rotating turbine is used to generate electricity.

Steam turbine is when a device that has the extract thermal energy from pressurized steam. It is used to do mechanical work on a rotating output shaft. The steam turbine was invented by Sir Charles Parsons in 1884.

A turbine.
There is a type of electrical generating machine called a steam turbine. Steam is used to make the turbine spin. The turbine contains magnets, and the moving magnetic fields, as they intersect wires, generate electricity.
Membrane-type flexible coupling is used in steam turbines.
