pitbulls do not have locking jaws. as of now there is no specific test that states they are stronger than any other dog. as per this national geographic video pitbulls are not as big of a problem as German sheppards and rottwielers

Estimates were writen in papers but there is no known proof that pit bulls can bite harder than other breeds of dog. Dogs bite harder or less hard depending on what situation they are in, so it is very difficult to run tests to determine bite strength. It is a natural assumption that larger dog breeds with bigger jaws have stronger bites. That would mean there are numerous Dog Breeds that can bite harder than pit bulls.
Test results I have read say Approx. 320 lbs of pressure per square inch (PSI)
While the pittbull does have a high amount of pressure in their bite at 235 pounds per square inch. When tested against other breeds, they were found to have less pressure than some other breeds.
Pit bull bite: 235 pounds of force.
In comparison...
German Shepherd: 238 pounds of force
Rottweiler: 328 pounds of force
Lion: 691 pounds of force
Hyena: 1000 pounds of force

∙ 13y agoveryyy strong... ive owned 3 now and they are really nice but if they really wanna do something and your in their way they can easily move you. but if u raise them yourself and have them meet the whole family and grow up with them they wont turn on you like how all those other people say :D
