He was very successful throughout Europe, conquering practically everything he wanted. He failed in Russia not because of bad strategy, tactics, weapons, or inadequate manpower; but because he was not prepared for the winter there which killed over 99% of his troops before he finally withdrew. He also failed in other areas outside Europe.
