No there is not a such thing as a 16.6 hand horse. One hand is 4 inches and the measurements are as follows 16.0 , 16.1 , 16.2 , 16.3 ,17 and it continues on in that pattern. Some people will list a horse that is say 16.2 hands as 16.5 meaning it's sixteen in a half hands, but this is also incorrect. So a 16.6 hand horse could be anything from 16.2 to 17.3 hands. You can always ask someone for the horses height in inches and figure it out yourself.
Depends on what you consider tall. 16 hands is about 5 ft 4 in. (Horses are measured at the withers.) Personally, I think it is tall, my gelding is 15-2 and I don't think he is tall. And 16 is just two more inches. If you have long legs, it won't be a problem.
You measure a horse from the ground (at the point where the hoof touches the ground) to the highest point of the withers.
Each Hand is about 4 in
So pretty much if the horse is 16.2hh, that's 16.2 times 4.
The horse is about 64.8 inches (that's about 5'4") at the high point of the withers.
You can't really measure up to the head because horses have different neck lengths
You cannot really be too tall for a horse that is tall itself.
Horses under 14 hands are ponies. That's it and there is nothing to it a horse/pony measuring exactly 14.2 hands has the option over being a horse or a pony.
Just over 12.1 hands.
horses are measured in hands. 1 hand = 4 inches therefore.... a horse that is 15.3 hh (hands high) is (15 x 4 + 3) 63 inches tall you measure a horse from the withers... the lump where their neck starts
Horses are measured in HH or hands high. Put the measuring tape at the top of his withers (top of sholder) about where the hair of the mane stops naturally. The ceiling for a stall should be about 20ft. high, more is you can do it.
They won't kick you out if your horse is over 14.2 hh. But Pony Club is for young or junior riders, so there is age limits for riders.
Authentic is 16.1 hh
There are 4 inches in a hand, so a 14 hh horse/pony would be 56 inches tall.
Horses under 14 hands are ponies. That's it and there is nothing to it a horse/pony measuring exactly 14.2 hands has the option over being a horse or a pony.
14.2 hh and up is a horse.
Varied heights from shetlands- shires. Ponies are below 14.2hh, and horses above. The tallest horse was a 19 hh shire. the smallest was a 17 inch falabella
16.2 hh
they can range from a pony size (14 hh) to almost 16 hh
a pony
a pony
# A horse 14.3h and under is a pony anything over is a horse!
16.2 hh
There is no one way to answer this question. A zorse will depend on how tall the horse was. The mule would be the same, I would need to know how tall the horse part of the mule was. As for zebras and donkeys, they usually stand 12 to 14 HH.
