Technology can open up a whole new door in learning, such as, educational movies, interactive videos, internet access to help research tasks, to teach students how to use technology, which is vital in our technological society which is still being developed, technology can go even further and be used in smart boards which take learning beyond the computer, to summarise this. Technology is very useful is classrooms as long as it can be controlled so that the teachers can watch over everything that the students are doing, these are just a small amount of advantages that technology can do in education.
How is technology affecting the learning process?
How is technology affecting the learning process?
How is technology affecting the learning process?
A2: I think these two concepts, learning processes and technology, need some clarification here.
When we talk about learning processes I think people tend to talk about knowledge only, rather than acquiring useful skills and understanding for daily use in the workaday world.
Technology has a lot to do with learning, but shouldn't I also say, it has a lot to do with NOT learning too?
Before calculators, for example, I think people concentrated more on understanding how to do the skills of math. I found a math student I was tutoring did not know how to 'multiply', she only knew how to input a number to the calculator, push 'X' and read the 'answer'. She had no understanding of multiplication or the basic definitions of the subject, and no concept of how to check her work or any concept of how to use these skills in life or later studies in any useful way. I would ask her the simplest of multiplication questions that did apply to what she was doing every day at home and she could not think with it at all. When I clarified the basic understandings of her math, then she could apply both. She had learned 'Calculator Math'.
I think one has to learn the basic skills and acquire the basic understandings and THEN apply these within the scope of the new technology. The learning process has to involve both, and it has to result in the student having the ability to apply all to life. When one is learning a new technology he should not be trying to learn basic skills at the same time or substitute such things for the basic understandings of each subject.
Now to address basic understandings and skills, I think some basic concepts have gotten lost. This causes confusions in later studies that technology can not fix. The confusion represents a failure to comprehend. And if a basic idea has been left out, but the student does not become confused until later, it can be very difficult for the student or an average tutor to straighten things out. How many tutors, or curriculum people, go back to something learned or not learned, in the first grade and get the student to understand it, so they can move forward in the eighth grade? Who goes back and finds a missing understanding below 'multiply' and then finds that it has been deleted from elementary school programs all across America?
Technology should not be thought of a substitute for basic skills and understandings.
The learning process should also NOT be sabotaged by deleting basic understandings from the curriculum that will certainly cause confusions when technology is taught.
Computers make learning easier because it has the programs, and knowledge to help learning.
Developers of programs can make programs to help learning, such as calculators, online tests, or programs to help you make something. Computers also have the Internet. You can search for help on your homework or class project, research, online calculators, online dictionary, etc.
So the computer just makes it much easier with a click of a button. But, some people would rather do it the old fashion way, use a book dictionary, ask your parents/friends, etc.
As we all know that the technology is vast, we can learn more.
Learning using technology is fun, easy, interesting.
It does not involve reading and mugging.
Yeah, I'm a student and I love my Tech while working if i use it properly. Sometimes I get distracted by it though. Otherwise It helps me a lot.
online technology tools will help educators and students manage and analyze the curriculum.

TECHNOLOY IN EDUCATION HAS MANY DIFFERENT ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES WHICH AFFECTS THE LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS. ADVANTAGES TECHNOLOGY HELP US TO DEVELOP WRITING SKILLS ,COLLABERATE WITH PEERS IN FOREIGN COUNTRIES. TEACHERS CAN USE MULTIMEDIA TECHNOLOGY TO GIVE COLORFUL, STIMULATING LECTURES. DISADVANTAGE IS THAT STUDENTS WILL BE DEPENDENT ON TECHNOLOGY TO LEARN.
Advantages of educational technology include improved accessibility to resources, opportunities for personalized learning, and enhanced engagement through interactive tools. However, disadvantages can include the potential for distraction, unequal access to technology based on socioeconomic factors, and a need for proper training for educators to effectively integrate technology into the classroom.
