Messages travel to the brain by the nerves and spinal cord working together. Say for instance you touch a hot pan. You don't know its hot until 1 or 2 seconds after you touch it. That's because the nerves get the messages that something is hot, then it goes through the spinal cords message banks and sends it to the brain.
the message will travel to our brain by means of our senses. then it will travel along the spinal cords and then finally the brain will receive it and interprets it.
I don't think this has been done yet. It may, or may not, be possible.
