It depends, if your wanting to know how to mute someone then just veiw the score board while in game playing match-making then scroll down, it says to press a certain button. Do so then select the gamer tag of the one of your choice and a screen should show saying a few options, one should say mute player. Select it and he is muted..
Make sure it is connected, not muted, and the volume is up to the point where you can hear the 13 year old on the other team yelling in your ear. If that doesn't work, then get a new headset.
