how do you change crank seal on a 96 geo prizim
Need to know what seal you are talking about. Front crankshaft seal, wheel seal, etc?
You have to remove the transmission from the vehicle, then remove the flexplate from the crankshaft. The seal is directly behind the flexplate.
1200 to 2000 - our went out some years back was about 1600 for whole job.
It has a 1 piece solid round seal that slides over the rear of the crankshaft. You MUST pull the engine are the transmission to get to the seal.
How do you change rear main oil seal in a 2000 Toyota celica gt. thanks
how do i replace a front crankshaft seal on a 99 mitsubishi mirage
I am assuming that you mean the main seal on the crankshaft. Generally replacing the main seal requires that the crankshaft be removed. Which usually means the engine has to come out. I don't know anything about the 3.0l engine. Any of the vehicles that I owned that had a main seal leak never got changed.
Yes
You have to split the engine cases and remove the crankshaft. Then remove the crankshaft bearings. Use a seal driver or large socket and knock out the seals. Lube new seals and drive them in. Replace all the seals in motor, new crank bearings, and mine as well throw in a new piston and rings since its all apart anyway.
That is a 1 piece seal. You will either have to pull the transmission out are the engine what ever you think is the easiest for you.The seal just drives in a housing over the back of the crankshaft.
yes
