First off note that there are quite a few versions of a table and teaspoon. The easiest one to go through is a tablespoon is 15ml and a teaspoon is 5ml according to the metric measures and this is a decent approximation. To convert to tablespoons, divide by 15, and to teaspoons divide by 5

Since there are 1000 ml in a liter, you divide the number of milliliters by 1000 to find out how many liters it equals. Or you just move the decimal to the left 3 places:

12500 ml = 12.500 liters

1 tablespoon is 15 ml of water. Obviously not all substances have the same mass.
