For windows: Ctrl+Alt+Del It will either go directly to the task manager or to an intermediate screen. If it shows up as a small screen with options "shut down" "task manager" and others, then go to task manager. Click on the "processes" tab For Mac: I do not think that you can
Assuming Windows:

Yes, I myself think to do so is great! Ending some processes that are unnecessary will free your computer of programs using up memory and processing. Usually items in the task manager under "SYSTEM" are a MUST have for the computer to function. If you accidentally end something you aren't supposed to the computer will most likely shut down and you will have to reboot. Most things that your computer needs won't even let you end. I like to familiarize myself with most processes so when there is something that I don't recognize, boom, its gone. Hope this helps.
It depends on what processes you end. It would be more realistic for you to just look on your computer and see what applications you have open and close the ones you are not using.
By definition a Computer because it "Computes" and "Processes" data.

A computer processes data by sorting, merging and making calculations to add more meaning to it. This is done by the computer's CPU.
