Marines' Hymn
The "Marines' Hymn" is one of the most popular of hymns in the US Marine Corps. The hymn is based on melody and music from an older Italian opera. It is recognizable for its assertion that one who serves in the Marines is proud to claim the title of United States Marine.

On the CD Songs of the Marines the Marine Corp Hymn is on the CD twice with both the slow and faster version. There are seventeen songs in all on the CD.
The USA Marines fought pirates in Tripoli, Libya. It was the site of a big battle. The Marines won.
"From the Halls of Montezuma" is a reference to their efforts at the Battle of Chapultepec.
