read the poem out loud
yes, very much so. If you read a poem with a "robot voice" you will not understand the poem as completely as you will if you read with voicing. (Loud, clear, and full of expression)
1. Read the poem out loud. 2. If you don't know a word, look it up. 3. Don't try to "relate" to the poem. Read it on its own terms.
You take your poem, then you read it loud and clear in a poetic way. You can also do expressions just like you would reading a script ( You can do different tones of voice ) Make your expressions and tone of voice fit the poem you are performing:) -K
Slam Poetry is designed to be read out-loud in a competition with other poets. Think Eminem in 8 Mile, but more civilised!
Read it many times. After reading it many, many times, try to say it out loud, one line, or a few lines, at a time, without looking at the written poem - then check with the written poem. Or say it out loud while a friend checks the written poem. Even if you can say the entire poem from beginning to end, continue practicing during the following days - you may forget parts of the poem again.
Read the poem.
you read a poem like anything else
To say "poem" out loud, pronounce it as "po-em" with the emphasis on the first syllable. It rhymes with "foam."

Of course! You can share your poem with me and I'll be happy to read it.
To read a poem well, pretend you are picking it for someone you want to be your lover, or for someone else's lover, your mother, or your best friend, or your best friend that is dying and this will be the last poem they will hear, or for a wedding. It should force you to pay attention to things you might not have noticed. It doesn't really matter anyway what you pick, the poem will replace your scenario, and you might see what's there differently
