This is a delicate plastic trim piece. You must be very careful. Begin by tilting your steering wheel all the way down and moving your auto shift lever into 1st, or all the way down. Begin prying gently, but firmly, on the bottom of the trim around the steering wheel. There are clips that hold it in, and that's all. The back of the plastic houses the clips, so be careful not to break them off. If you break them off the trim piece itself, you're going to be buying a new trim piece. I have found that these are very hard to find. Do not pull so hard that you break the trim either. It can be brittle after years of heat and sun. Good luck!

To remove the factory stereo on 1996 dodge ram 1500 you need to pop the hood on the Ram and remove the ashtray. Slide the stereo out of the dash and unplug the cables from the back of the stereo.
THE FACTORY AMP IS LOCATED UNDER THE DASH BORD PASSENGER SIDE THERES ONE SREW THE PANEL COMES OFF AND THERE IS THE AMP 2001 DODGE DURANGO
You have to remove the dash and HVAC housing.
Ask a Loacl. HOW do you remove the dash board on a 1996 dodge avenger
If you are referring to the factory supplied radio, it is not a 'component' type radio. It must be removed from the dash and dis-assembled.
Remove the dash panel (pops off), then all the necessary screws, and it comes right off.
The factory amp on a 1999 dodge intrepid is located on the right kick panel behind the dash.
it's actually fairly easy. there are screws where the speedometer is and under the dash. remove them and the front part of the dash just drops. now the kit for aftermarket installations is hard to find for a 2001. the kit i used was for a 2000 intrepid. fits perfectly.
Unscrew the two screws above the gauge cluster. Then, on the right side of the dash near the airbag switch start pulling the dash off, it is all held in place by clips.
Remove the cup holder and ashtray assemblies, pull the dash face off (tilt the stearing wheel all the way down). Then remove the bolts that hold the radio in the dash, pull the radio out and unhook all the wires from the back.
I cannot find how to remove the cup holder from the dash of my 2001 Pontiac Montana
