In the most ridiculous spot going. Its in the front where the timing belt and rollers are. You need to take off the front bumper and remove the radiator to get at it. PITA to do.
This is an extremely difficult fix. If you must know, you have to remove the front bumper and radiator. It is on the left side when you are facing the car.
Remove the front fascia (bumper with lights). Remove radiator, remove timing belt cover- it is right there.
its on either side of the front arm inside the bumper. Its a pain.
1) Remove the Torx screws just in front of the front wheels attaching the front bumper to the plastic bodywork parts. 2) Flip off the outer front grills, that house the fog lamps if you have them. 3) Lie on the floor looking up, and you'll see an 6mm Allen headed Bolton the underside of the reveals. 4) Remove. 5) Carefully tug the bumper off, trying to keep it straight and square. 6) Carefully remove the electrical connections. That's it

Audi recommend 10hours for this work as if you are removing the belts, you might as well replace them, along with associated rollers and tensioners.... A DIY job for the enthusiantic..... Oh I forgot to mention, you need to remove the front of the car, front bumper, headlamps, radiators and coolers.... ;o)

I have 2006 2.0t and it's the biggest inconvenience. First take off the 2 front wheels, pull back the fender liner, remove the bottom plastic skid plate, remove the bumper then take out the headlights.
