A tough bird question , Great! :)
90-95 degrees during the first week. Reduce the temp 5 degrees each week after until you reach room temp.
If they are from outside and it is cold do not immediately put them in that heat. Room temp is fine, raise the room temp to about 75-80 gradually.
Also NEVER put ANY KIND OF new born animals under a heat lamp. Not kittens, not puppies, not birds. They have breeder boxes for chicks, put the lamp under it (5-10 inches) and make sure you check the temp in the box. If you put your hand under the box and it burns it is too close.
Also make sure that you change the paper towels frequently (daily) it can get messy in there.
Taking on a big responsibility. My hats off to you! Great person!
After the first year, they are not considered chicks.
the father does.
yes they do the chicks follow the mother round until they can look after themself
The difference is that precocial chicks are relatively mobile as soon as they hatch. Altricial chicks require heavy nourishment and care before they mature.
it depends on what kind, for example, the emperor penguin takes care of it's chicks for up to 5 months then the chicks can go out to sea.

you must feed them a llot so you can eat them.....
In the wild, they live up to about a lifespan of a year and a half. One was found to live up to about 19 years. When you take care of them (In captivity),they can live up to about 12 to 20 years. So be take care of your mourning doves! :) Acknowledgements:Google
because it does... that's why GOTH CHICKS ARE CREEPY
Yes. It may have a hard time swimming for awhile until it gets used to it. Sorry, there is no cure.
Male emus care for the young chicks for 4-5 months. The female emu has no part in raising the chicks.
