Well, you have to focus on the main points of the story. I would tackle this one by jotting down some key points of the story and then expanding on that. It may also help to follow the main character (so to speak) as they generally have the most important roll in the story. Basically just figure out where your going and stay on track!! :)
To write a precis of a long story, focus on the main idea, key events, and the overall message of the story. Identify the most important elements and summarize them concisely, maintaining the original tone and style of the story. Avoid including unnecessary details and paraphrase the content in your own words.

You can use any words you want to in a story! It's your story - write whatever you want to write.
It rather depends on the content and purpose, but my approach would be to list the salient features just as words or phrases; omit the secondary points or list them separately, then link the list in clear, concise English. So to precis that long sentence: my approach.....> I would salient features... > main points words or phrases secondary points - list below link good English /// Secondary points: purpose So then we could write: I list then link concisely, the main and secondary points. Taken futher: Write a precis from a list of points.
You can not!
Comprehend the whole passage in atleast two readings, look the question for which you gotta write the precis, find that portion in the comprehension passage, get eight points(keywords) from there, form it into sentences, use pronouns, use synonyms for those words(don't copy as it is), use single words for long sentences(that is comprehend the meaning, and get a single word for that), accomodate all the points in 60 words only( but its a rule to allow 60+2 or60-2 words). Go ahead with these guidelines. I hope it helps..!

WikiAnswers won't write a story for you - that's cheating, and you could get expelled for doing that! We WILL help you to write your own story. First, look up the meaning for each word so you can write good sentences in your story. Next, think of a sentence for each word that ties into the other sentences. How are the words alike? What sort of story could use all of the words? That's up to your imagination.

No. If you take all the words from a story and write a poem from it, that is plagiarism. However, you should be careful when copying other author's work.
