I would recommend you use the side of the deck where it is most visible(the side you have to look at all the time) and use that as your base of laying tile. Keep laying tile until you get to the uneven side of the deck. And then do your custom cutting to finish the last row of tiles. This way, the edge with the custom edge tiles will be less visible. Of course which edge you decide to start from is a personal choice. Personally, I found this to be a good strategy.
