how to take off old serpentine belt and insall new belt how to take off old serpentine belt and install new belt need help first u need to loosen the engine mount located in the passenger side close the coolant refil container . before u do that make sure that the engine supported by the jack and awood block.
Ive read that most Taurus cars have a faulty pulleythat the serpentine belt runs through which makes irritating noises such as squeaking, humming, tilted steering. It must be replaced to fix the problem. Belt conditioner is a temporary fix however u would have to use it daily. Highly reccomended to just get it replaced. hope this helps.
If i was u i would get a manuel because im doing it now and u have to take off the belt tensioners and crank damper pully and no 3 motor mount just to get the timing belt cover off
u can fix it either send it to Germany to be repaired or turn it off at the plug to stop it overheating overnight i did it and it worked
you take off the right passanger tire....... take off the serpentine belt and the power steering belt....... then u take off the harmonic balancer with a three claw gear puller....... then take off the cover behind it....... take off the top cover to the cam gears........ put a jack under the engine....... take off the motor mounts...... then take off the timing belt tensioner..... then take off the belt....... then take of off the water pump......... easy as that
all u have to do is use a tire tool gently and push inward and it will loosen, pull the belt off, let go slowly when you install the belt and it will tighten by itself
