Hitler killed them. The mentality challenged and disabled were murdered by the regime. In fact, they experimented with various means of killing people by going to mental hospitals that housed the disabled and mentally challenged and killing them.

To practice and create the extermination of millions the Nazi went into hospitals containing sick, mentally ill, and disabled people killing them in the experiments of the best methods to kill large numbers of people in a short period. They began by equipping vans with a hose that pumped carbon dioxide into the back of the van, but they could only kill a dozen or so at a time. Next, they lined up people and shot them in the head. Still not enough people killed. Finally, the idea of the camps came up. The gay, disabled, mentally challenged, and dissent prisoners all had a symbolic symbol sown on their clothing. They catalogued them according to their classification, sent them to camps, and murdered them.
