So, you're talking about the movie?? Not the TV show? In that case, I don't think her home life was great. Buffy's parents seemed quite absent, and her mother was a bit out of it and I don't think her parents really knew who she was. However, I didn't get the impression that Buffy particuarly minded, at least not at the beginning of the film. I think she was glad to have them out of her hair, to leave her to do as she liked. However, this is in the movie with Kristy Swanson, or whatever her name is. The TV series was quite different.
