Truman had a strong belief in containment and the enforcement of it, but Eisenhower was more involved in worldly affairs (for example, once he got into office, he immediately made moves towards the signing of the ceasefire that ended the Korean War). Oh, and Truman was more liberal, while Eienhower was more conservative.

Eisenhower admidistration had been interested in taking control of the spread of communism. Same with the Kennedy admisistration as they were interested in Vietnam.
