Not particularly as this was not the last battle of the jacobite war in Ireland. The main consequence of this battle was that King James fled after to France and abandoned the cause after the defeat, being dubbed Sheamus á chacá(James the shite) by the locals. After the lose of the war catholics in Ireland saw a reintoduction of the penal laws which deprived them of owning property, receiving an education and various other human rights also being denied to them by the English prodestant government.
