Jesus came first of all to the nation of Israel:

Matthew 15:24 But He answered and said, "I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."

So His teaching was for the back slidden nation of Israel. For example the parables of The Lost Sheep, The Lost Coin and The Lost Son all refer to the nation of Israel. Jesus' teaching stressed repentance and turning to God. Jesus also forbade His disciples to go anywhere else other than to Israel:

Matthew 10:5,6 These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: "Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Therefore a lot of Jesus' teaching had Jewish examples or was aimed at Jewish culture/traditions. For example His teaching on divorce was primarily against the Jewish practices of that time. Also His rebuke of the scribes and Pharisees was directly against the traditions they had introduced - see Matthew 23

v2-4 saying: "The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do.

For they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

On the contrary, it was a break from Jewish traditions, which is why he was not accepted by the Jews. He taught that faith in him was the central requirement and that not all of the Torah's commands need be kept. See also:

How did the basic teachings of Jesus combine with the Jewish traditions to make a new belief?

The teachings of Jesus were not combined with Jewish traditions to make a new belief. Jesus was clear in His teaching that he wasn't adding to what already existed. Matthew 9:17 Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved." Paul also makes it clear in his letters that the old ways of Judaism have finished, for example: Galatians 3:24 Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. In the book of Hebrews the writer also makes it clear Christianity is not something that has been added to Jewish traditions: Hebrews 8:6 But now He (Jesus) has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.
