Rosa Parks, being a black woman during the times of harsh racial discrimination and segregation, stood up for her rights when she was asked to move to the backseat of a city bus in order for a white man to sit in the more convenient front seat where she had currently been seated. When she refused to move, she was arrested. Basically, she's just an example of the extremities of the Civil Rights Movement and had a huge role in the increased tolerance of black people. :) Hopefully this helped!
