In the past shopping was very different. the cost was much less and things werent as good of quality. When i was younger i didnt live near a market so it was very so often that i could go to town. My family only had one car and it was for emergencies! I didnt live a very good childhood but i got used to it and actually enjoyed the presence of my only friends(cows)!!!! Hope this answered your question!
Glad you asked! Shops were NOT AT ALL like they are today. There were no malls. Shops were most likely small. They sold things such as food, cloth, and maybe already made clothes. It depends on how past you mean.

That would be a difficult statistic to compile. Shopping habits among populations are so vastly different. Even in one household, shopping habits can vary widely. I personally spend the least amount of time shopping as possible, I even hire someone to do my grocery shopping every week. I know people that consider shopping as important as their jobs and spend as much time shopping as time allows them.
a loyalty card is something that analyses your shopping habits for example: Tesco clubcard

Correct grammar would be (present tense) "are you doing your shopping", or (past tense) "have you done your shopping".
The past tense of "shop" would be "shopped". bUT SOME SAY IT IS " SHOPED" BUT THE CORRECT IS "SHOPPED" WITH DOUBLE "P'' w/ /ED/.
