In the UK - we "remember" not "celebrate" Armistice day, not Veterans Day - but I guess it is the same thing. At 11:00 on the 11th day of the 11th Month, we hold a two minute silence in recognition of all those who died giving us the peace and an end to the bloodship and terror it had given.
VE Day is celebrated in May, because the last major capitulations of German resistance came in May 1945.

Boxing Day. It is actually celebrated in the whole of the British Commonwealth, not just Great Britain.
There is no Y day celebrated or commemorated. You are probably referring to V E Day or V J Day which are the days we celebrate victory in Europe and Japan. Those days are celebrated May 8th for the 5/8/1945 VE Day and VJ day is celebrated August 15 for the 8/15/1945 victory day.
