THE KEVIN MANGOLD STORY

Kevin was my twin brother and he past away on August 24th, 2005. What happen to him should not have to happen to anyone else. He was a very happy dude, always smiling. He loved to ride his bike and fix things. I know deep down in my heart he didn't want to die the way he did. I think he didn't even know what he was doing. It kills me to see him go this way and I just want everyone to know so it doesn't happen to anyone else. On the night of August 23rd, I had some friends over and we were partying having a good time. I got a phone call from Kevin he sounded sad. I asked him what was wrong and he said he was depressed and mad because he messed up his house arrest. He wasn't home and they called and told my dad he had court the next day. So I told Kevin that I was going to pick him up so he can take his mind off of it. I left to go pick Kevin up. When I got there he was alone waiting for me. There was something wrong with him like he was really tried or really messed up! He had taken methadone and Xanx together. He wasn't really messed up until we got to my house and he was passing out while he was sitting. I had gave him some food and he passed out next to it. He would wake up and say "is this mine"? After that he chilled for like an hour and I decided to take him home but I didn't want to leave so I told Buju to take him home. Buju had told me when he took him home Kevin fell into the gate and then in the dirt! I felt so bad and the rest of the night was okay but I didn't feel good for some reason. The next day my dad was trying to call me and I didn't hear my phone. Then I heard a knock at the door. It was my dad and he told me my brother had passed away I tried so hard for hours and hours and I just was thinking maybe I could have done somthing to help him or save him. The two drugs mixed together stopped his heart in his sleep. The rest of the story is just people crying. We all miss him and now that he's gone I think twice before I do something that might harm myself. My dad was the most hurt because Kevin was my dad's riding buddy when they would go camping. Now I'm my dad's riding buddy and it makes me feel a little better because I can fill that in for my dad. Still to this day me, my dad, my mom, and my sister cry when we think about him.
