Much smaler population from which to recruit armies.
pretty much new doctrine was about slavery not allowed the north burnt the south down in the civil war so the south had lost all its money from slavery, farms, and had not started in industry. so they had to rebuild and could not be the old farming, share cropping good Ole' boys they had been. Public education was also catching on. The freedman's bureau did allot to take care of free Negros and the poor whites because both could not read or write. that's all i got.
The firing on Fort Sumter. The civil war stated because if so much tension and then the union had a fort down south and it was attacked and the north declared war on the south wich led to the most bloodiest war in us history
The South (confederacy)'s goal at the start of the civil war was actually not much, other than to secede from the United States. They didn't technically want to start a war, but the North (union) decided that they didn't want the South seceding and therefore declared "war". The south wanted to secede because the Union, aka the United States before the war, had passed anti-slavery laws and the South wanted to keep them.
Reconstruction means rebuilding. During the Civil War, much of the South was destroyed. Reconstruction was rebuilding AFTER the war- both physical rebuilding, and rebuilding the government in the former Confederate States.
It means to destroy for example a building and rebuild it, VOTE :) In terms of the Civil War, reconstruction means the effort by the country to rebuild the South and much of a country that was damaged or destroyed by war.
The South had just been defeated in the Civil War. Many of its railroads and businesses and farms had been damaged or destroyed. The slaves, who did much of the agricultural work, were freed. They needed jobs but and little education and few skills. The South had to be rebuilt and needed a lot of help to do so.
The Southern states struggled to recover from the US Civil War because the war was fought mainly in the southern states. Their cities, farms, railroads and industries were largely destroyed by the Union army during the war and a much larger proportion of southerners died during the war, depriving the south of infrastructure and workers to rebuild it.
Hyundai Civil Industries was responsible for building much of South Korea's transportation infrastructure from the 1950s through the 1970s.
