Super glue was discovered in 1942 by Kodak (Coover/Joyner) during experiments to make plastic for gun sights. Though that effort failed, it was discovered that the cyanoacrylates glued many things quickly. Kodak quickly developed Eastman #910, calling it "Super Glue".
