Until December 7, 1942, the US played only a political role. However, when we were surprise attacked at Pearl Harbor, we were entered into the war with a strong desire for revenge. We would play a huge role in the Pacific Theater against the Japanese and also a major role in the European Theater, most notably at D-Day and our atomic bombs.
